Ive recently put a second 5850 in my machine to crossfire. I had quite a healthy overclock on my XFX card using afterburner, but with the second card in, if i change any of the sliders, i blue screen immediately.

The second card is a powercolour. Im on a P55 setup, is it worth flashing the bios of the cards to be the same? Would it allow me to clock these then?

I havent, ach, its probably not worth the bother for all the difference it would make anyway.

The second 5850 is on 6 pin convertors, which might have something to do with it.

Have you enabled unofficial overclocking? With my setup (both xfx, but one is reference and one is non-reference) I'd get bsod if I enabled unofficial overclocking. Even attempting a 1mhz increase gives me a freeze or bsod.

With it turned off, I'm limited to 775/1125 (which both cards do with ease), however I can't find any program that'll let me overclock above this limit with both cards.

PS, if one (or more) of your cards is non-reference.... DO NOT flash the bios..... flashing non-reference cards with standard bios = dead card...... and afaik there isn't a hacked bios out for the non-reference models.
