Does anybody know how 2 or 3 monitors at 1920x1080 will do with 2x Sapphire 5850s non overclocked... ?

Somebody cracked my T240 :( and I've tryed to overclock my 5850s but they wont have it.

yeh I know, I add the line to msi program and it does the voltage overclock but not the others past ccc limits... I used the amd overclock program and have got to 830 but anything past that the pc blue screens... and that dont save the overclock, I wish somebody would do a video tutorial or better written tutorial.

Some of the Radeon cards have a locked BIOS which won't allow you to bypass the OC limits in CCC. There is only so far software overclocking will get you. You can flash your graphics card BIOS to an OC edition card BIOS which will allow you to clock higher. However this is quite a risky process and can brick your card it also will void your warranty.

Your descision though

So do i just add
overclockgpu =1
and it should enable me to do so?

Also anybody know if the eyefinity will work well with 2 5850s?

jst add =1 in msi,and yes 2x 5850 is enough for eyefinity,i had my 5850 at 800/1200 in ccc ethier do that or use msi

Thanks hasg70, I will try that when i get my monitors since im stuck with laptop till i get a monitor.. is there a big performance boost? at 800/1200?

Thanks FiCtioN75, Looks like i will get 2 of the monitors this week as birthday on thursday (buying one today, one on thursday as present and one next week) :D cant wait and glad it seems i wont need to buy another graphics card.

Tho if the fps in games isn't grat i'll have to get a 5970 and use one of my 5850s as I read thats a good combo?

3x 1080p here on 2 non overclocked 5850's. Handles everything just fine and have not had any need to overclock them to date. TBH you could get away with just 1 5850 on 3 x 1080p eyefinity with most games.

Thanks RavenLunatic thats made me feel more happy about getting the 3 monitors, do you play battlefield bad company 2? If so what kind of fps do you get?

Most people use fraps, its used to record games but when you don't record it shows you how many fps you have.

Benchmarks with 5850 xf:-

Dirt 2 6028x1080 DX11 4x MSAA everything set to high in gfx settings 46.82 average fps min fps 38.3

Don't have WOW but LOTRO runs at over 60 average FPS maxed out DX10 at 6028x1080 8xMSAA and 16xAF with everything else set at highest settings dropping to 40 fps every now and then.

6048x1080 on my 5970 @ stock (more or less the same as 2x5850). I just benched Dirt2 now to get some actual numbers ..

DIRT2, Ultra, 2xMSAA - avg 49.5, min 42.9
BC2 is in the 50s with High settings, No MSAA and HBAO off
AVP2 demo on standard settings is in the high 30s
Crysis WH is playable on Mainstream

6048x1080 on my 5970 @ 950/1200 (Similar to a nicely overclocked pair of 5850)

DIRT2, Ultra, 2xMSAA - avg 58.5, min 50.7
BC2 is in the high 60s with High settings, No MSAA and HBAO off - plays nice with vsync On.
AVP2 demo on standard settings is in the 40s
Crysis WH is well playable on Mainstream (not quite there for Gamer)

I even managed to play this lot comfortablly with a not too big drop in eye candy on a single 5870 @ 1000/1300 so a XFire setup will do just fine ...
