5850 Crossfire gaming problem

I had my second 5850 returned via RMA this week (faulty fan) and took the opportunity to do a clean install of Win 7 64bit. I'm getting an issue with games in crossfire mode. Basically the screen looks as though i've got double vision, the image is repeated and slightly offset, it's also flickering. If I disable Crossfire then all games are fine (Dragon Age and LFD2).

This is exactly the same setup I had previously so it's been fine before in 5850 crossfire. So far i've tried 10.3 (official and a,b) and 10.2's.

The card's are from different vendors as the VTX I sent off has been replaced with an Asus, though this shouldn't be an issue.

Any suggestions?

I read somewhere that this is an issue with the 5850 alrthough it does not affect everyone.

At the moment there is not a fix sorry to say

If your using the crossfire profiles application, that will be the problem, something is wrong with them for most users of crossfire and the application profiles.

Thanks for the replies. :)

i've got the refresh rate at 60hz. I did load the application profiles exe after the initial 10.3 install, although i've since removed it (i'll double check).

I'm convinced it's driver related.

Try changing the cable type towards your monitor (HDMI, DVI or DP). I had some strange issues using DP towards my Dell U2410 which cleared up once I changed to DVI.

Thanks, I'm using DP at the moment, into the same card as before. It's the bottom one that's been replaced. I've got an HDMI and DVI floating about so i'll give that a go.

And the winner is 555BUK! :D

Thank you sir, it was the display port cable, it doesn't want to play with crossfire any more, ok with either card in single mode, no go with any of the 10 series cats in crossfire it seems. Never mind, it's running fine over DVI.
