Hi Guys,

As the title really, I currently have a syncmaster 2333sw and have ordered two 2333t monitors that are arriving tomorrow for eyefinity.

The only problem I see here is that my rig may well not be up to the job of powering the monitors, I mainly play racing games, f1 2010, dirt 2, a bit of fallout 3 some css etc.

Current rig is:

q6600 @ 3ghz
4gb ocz
5850, currently at stock but is happy up to 1050/1250.

Could anybody running eyefinity on a single card comment? I was hoping for a 6 series card tomorrow but instead couldn't resist pressing buy.

A friend of mine says that his 5870 struggles in some games at that res. Might be an idea to grab a second when prices drop after the 6xxx launch?

This is starting to look less fun. Ahh well I guess its going to be a case of clocking the nuts out of the 5850 until I can afford a 69 series or another 5850.

until then no aa is not going to kill me at such a high res I wouldn't have thought. A few less shadows etc as well should boost some performance as well I guess.

Well the 5850 has 1gb of vram so thats not an issue, I think the issue is that its a huge space and the 5850 I imagine is just not powerful enough. Couple that with the q6600 and I think that I am underspeced for the res. I guess time will tell can wait for some eyefinity f1 :)

You may have to reduce some settings but it should be fine, I run a 5870 at 6076x1200 which rarely has issues with all the settings (apart from full AA) turned up.

Sweet, really looking forward to this. I have been watching some video's of racing games using eyefinity and the guys playing always look like they are having much more fun.

All i need to do now is find a highstreet shop near me where I can buy that thrustmaster f430 steering wheel and its game on :)

I would love another 5850 or a new 6 series but the other half would kill me as I have already splashed out on myself for my birthday tomorrow. I guess I will stick with the 5850 and look to do a full upgrade some time next year.

Deadman thats some serious resolution, what clocks are you running on the 5870? Also are you using the sapphire active dp adapter?

Finally are you running 3 identicle monitors?

Powercolor 5870 (stock)

Dell 2407(DVI) - Dell 2407HC(Sapphire active DP dongle to DVI) - Dell 2407(DVI)
The monitors HAVE to be identical to bezel management to work.

Bezel management enabled 6076x1200, with bezel management off the res at desktop is 5760x1200.

I use a Logitech G25 for driving games.

Deadman - Thanks for the info mate, I will be using a samsung 2333sw as the center via a sapphire dp - dvi, and using two samsung 2333t monitors (dvi) at the sides which are pretty much the same monitor as far as I can tell, do you think that this will cause any problems with the bezel management, as I noticed yours are slightly different variations of the same monitor?

Sorry for the off topic post, but VinceB1, are those the Samsung B2430H you've got there? If so, how would you rate them? Any ghosting/lag issues?

I'm looking for a new monitor so am curious to know.

Hey mate.

The middle monitor is a SM 2333SW and the sides are SM 2333T. I have had the middle monitor for a while and absolutly loved it so got two more, in the games that I have played I havent spotted any ghosting or lag issues.

They do indeed, In fact it was the B2430H which made me buy these. I was working on one at a clients and loved it however 3 would have been more expensive and a little large for my desk :(

well this little 5850 never seems to stop supprising me at stock clocks, full settings, 2aa and f1 2010 runs like an absolute dream.

To say I am poor with the wheel is an understatement but damn its fun.
