Forgive me if this is covered in another thread, but what sort of load temps are people getting from their 5850s?

I have the XFX 5850 XXX edition and it appears load temps in BFBC2 (reported by Everest) at about 70-74C which seems like a lot to me. "stock" card although that means a mild overclock being the XXX edition.

Should I be worried? Oh and GPU fan speed at this temp is only at 30%!!! ?????

graphics card tend to run alittle hop on load m8 from stock fan settings, usualy they are set 30%-50% speed of what they can do, as the temps go up so does the fan speed.

you can get tuning programs to set the fan speed the way you want it to keep it cool all the time. but this is coming at the expense of noise.

get an auto fan profile setup in rivatuner :) since my old 8800gts ive always set this up on my graphics cards. they would hit almost 80, sometimes a lil more if the room was warm o.O but now got the fan to start at 40% and then increases with the core temp, now it doesnt even hit 60 :) and doesnt get too loud maxing out about 75% fan speed :)

So fan noise on stock 5850 card at say 50% is still bearable?

Are there any links to sound profiles for the 58** series or something similar somewhere?

Edit: and thanks for the info :)

rivatuner doesn't work with the 5*** cards, but afterburner does :)

If you're that worried, OcUK sell a Zalman GPU cooler which you can place in a PCI slot to add extra cooling.

You can use Rivatuner with a 5850, you simply have to add in the correct ID in the RV770 line, for example, on my card i added 6899h,
in the config file :)
However, it tends to report core speeds etc a little wrong LOL.
