5850 nuked my CPU OC?

I had my CPU sitting pretty @ 4GHz, when I installed the 5850 prime wouldn't even run. What gives?

It obviously wasn't 100% stable. The 5 series for whatever reason seems to make previously stable overclocks, unstable.

ATi cards do show up CPU overclock instabilities, the 4850s and 4870X2s showed that my vcore was too low and got the Display driver stopped responding.

Probably caused a vdrop, not sure why wouldn't have thought a HD5870 would cause it through

Yep, a 5850 stole my overclock too!

i think you have to clear your cmos and start over with the clock

particularly if you are "touch" over clocking as I like to call it (using minimal voltage)
