Hi guys, my mate has just bought the MSI 5850 on offer here, and he has a cheap generic power supply (I think 450w) would that be ok for a while to run this card?
 
Cheap generic 450w psu = 300-350w if he's lucky, weak unstable rails and very innefficient. Not to mention that if it blows it will most likely take the rest of his rig with it.

Dependant on the rest of his rig this would be a good investment at £57.
 
Been running an overclocked q6600 and 5850 on a coolermaster 460 2x18a 12v since release.. you should be ok for a bit but personally I wouldn't be risking it on a generic supply.
