right i just played a bit of SoC with the Complete2009 mod
during the opening video i was getting tearing in the screen
it was very clear attimes and others were harder to see but there were Tearing
i was wondering what could course this, i i had the game set as highest res with the rest of the settings at default (think they were highest) but the fact that the game isnt very new should i be experiencing this? i think it has happened on other games as well, such as Crysis - could it have something to do with my monitor as i am using my TV (via HDMI) at the moment i am running 10.3 beta (i know its 10.3 but are they beta?) graphics drivers at the moment i am going to install a few more games and see what happens

Because of the 5850, it'll be rendering the game at a higher framerate than your monitor's refresh rate. Enable v-sync in game or in drivers to cap the framerate at your refresh rate and solve this problem :)

ah great thought it might be something simple or something to do with TV - dam i need to get my monitor :)
how do i do it in the driver (so that i dont have to do it on EVERY game)

I don't think Stalkers in-game v-sync setting works and ATI's drivers are crap for forcing v-sync, your only option will be d3doverrider or to just put up with it.

i am currently on my 42inch TV and while i played L4D maxxed out and it was great
the screen tearing during Crysis was REALLY bad! i mean just looking around makes the screen tear it self apart. this wont happen when i get my Monitor will it? how do i force Vsync on in the ATI Catalst place?

would this still happen if i got a projector or anything? is it down to the specs of mycomputer or down to the monitor/TV that i am using? its really annoying as gaming on this 42inch LCD TV would be great but Crysis is near unplayable due to the tearing, i havent tried Stalker yet - but the tearing in that is no where near as bad as it is on here but then again that was on a 19(i think) inch TV would that have something to do with it?

Will this happen with all games when playing on a TV, will it happen with all TV's as well? i am just gutted as i would LOVE to play Crysis on this but the tearing is SO bad that i cant play it :(

Is there anything else that i can do to improve the situation when it comes to tearing on games and would it be better to just stick to using a monitor? i know other people with TV and they can play games on it jjust fine - or is it one of those things with crysis?
