5870 Artifact on desktop problem

Well I just this minuite installed my new 5870 including the new catalyst 10.1 drivers and my screen is full of green dots and **** flashing. It's artifactling like crazy here take a look at the screenshot...

Anyway can someone please help I've been googling around but I cant find any answers :/

I'm also kind of narked you guys here at OC convinced me to buy a 5870 instead of waiting for the Nvidia series and the second I plug it in I'm getting problems, ATI has never worked right for me :/

I know that isn't very annoying when new toys don't work but it has nothing to do with ATI/Nvidia. The same companies make the RAM/GPU for both companies.

Any way in more contructive manner , this happened on my 5770,, can you game as normal and does this in 2d?

Yeah I read its a problem with the 2D so how can I fix this?

Also will replacing the card be any use or is it just not very well optimized for my hardware?

Dont bother Its mate its RMA time happened ob both my 5770s but my 5870 is free from it, something to do with with low memory timings when in 2d, some people force them but to me rma time
