5870 Crossfire Question

Hi Guys,

I am considering buying a MSI lightning 5870 to crossfire with my existing sapphire 5870 vaporx would this be okay to mix from different manufacturers, if not, anyone want to buy a slightly used 5870 vapor-x?

It would work just fine together. Just need to up your vapour core by 25mhz to be the same

Oh thought of another question, i got a Antec signature 850w power supply, is this going to be enough juice for two 5870's overclocked as they are?

I would have thought so. Assuming you have enough power connectors.

Hmm that concerns me from what I have heard the system I have from various power supply calculators says i need 800watts or above, it recommends 860w PSU or above for my system spec.

If its a decent make of PSU (which it is) you will have no problem running your setup

I run a 5970 + 5870 with a Corsair HX850W and an i7 @ 4GHZ fine.

Not sure how that compares to your PSU.
