Hi'a

so i've read quite a few reviews and will definetly get a card when they come into stock again,

I currently have a matrox triple digital head which I use for a tri monitor set up.

The fact that a GPU can do this and with a better resolution sounds like an excellent deal. However the ATI site says that I require a monitor that has a display port? as well as two which have DVI inputs.

question 1) - what on earth is a display port? I've had a look on google and they look like HDMI ports, is this correct?

question2) if I get a DVI to HDMI convertor do you think this would suffice?

Cheers!!

I think display port is the same as hdmi only with quality sound on the same cable

the cards have hdmi also so you could use a straight through hdmi cable or a converter from dvi to hdmi if you prefer

This is exactly what i have been looking at, there is a huge thread at wide screen gaming forum that basically says if u have digital monitors (DL-DVI, DVI, HDMI)(NOT VGA) And Under 2.7 Megapixels (this allows a maximum screen resolution at 60 Hz of 1915 x 1436 pixels (standard 4:3 ratio), 1854 x 1483 pixels (5:4 ratio) or 2098 x 1311 (widescreen 8:5 ratio))
then u can get a cheap adapter from DP to DVI/HDMI/ <£20 else u have to buy a really expensive converter (£60ish)

the things i said are only relevant if you don't not have a monitor that has a native display port, from what i have gathered u could use those 3 monitors you mentioned without any adapters
