just wanted to know if this is a right idle temp for 5870 running @ idle with 38-40c?

i tried to stress test it with furmark and it hit 86c i have no with wats with this. but if someone can explain something that would be good. thank you.

Furmark just stresses it so it hits it's absolute temperature peak, it will never do this really in any game except maybe Crysis on max settings on a hot day so that 86c you reported will not go higher than that as the fan speed will hit 100% by then to cool it down gradually.

Your load temps in games probably be around 65-70c i should imagine, i wouldn't worry anyway unless you see artifacting/tearing since all modern cards have good heat sensors that adjust your fan speed like above.

yes around 60c whilst in game, my current speed fan is still @ stock 50% i believe. just scares me when i saw my temp whilst running furmark.

thank you guys for clearing this for me. i wish there will be a better cooling solution for vga's coz people said sycthe vga cooler is not that great for some reasons.
