Considering buying a new system and was wondering if it was time for a new graphics card too?

How does it perform to newer graphics card and how much money will i have to get more graphical boost.

OR should i get a more powerful psu and a 2nd hand 5870 n go crossfire?

I run two monitors both at 1080p, on with games on and the other with film/fb etc.

What would you recommend?

Going Crossfire will add 0 vram and many problems.

Sell your card and buy a better one if you need one. If not stick with what you have.

hmm

Similar set up here. The 5870 is still a very capable card.

Im gong to upgrade my cpu/mobo/ram first. Ivy Bridge possibly or see what the next AMD cpu's are like.

Also by April time, the 7000 series should be out and prices should be down, also there might be some more news on the new Nvidia cards.

I would hold of for now on a gpu upgrade, and maybe upgrade to a 2500k or what for Ivy, like myself.

Options for an upgrade to a 5870 if we are honest here would be: 7970, 580, 590, 6990 or 6950xfire.

Nothing else would be worth it, in terms of performance. Money is a different matter
