5870 on a e6600 @3.7

Hi all, currently have a 8800GTX with a e6600 cpu at 3.7 ghz.

Would this bottlebeck a 5870 which I am looking at purchasing

have you looked at the 5850 you can overclock them to the same speed

Is that the only difference, I thought they looked more powerful in just than the clocks?

and i would think your cpu would not have any problems at that speed a few of my friends still use them them chips and dont have any gaming problems on high setting still not many games take advantage of more than 2 cores

well what res do you play at and the 5870 is better but its an expensive card and a long card

CM-690 which I'm sure will fit.

I game at 1920x1200

The other thing I've just noticed is that my 965 - DS3P does not support PCIE 2.1, just the origional x16, will this hamper performance much?

well the 5870 is a beast and make sure it fits just go with 5870 but you might have to upgrade your cpu in the future to a quad
