5870 or 6870?

If you had the opportunity to pick up either card for the same price (about £180), which one would be the better choice?

This is for FPS Gaming at 1920x1080.

5870, purely as it's faster at stock. 6870 is more efficient and I think scales better with crossfire.

I've a 6870, if I could have gotten a 5870 at the time at the same price, I'd have taken the 5870

Although I can't fault my 6870 the 5870 is still faster

Radeon 5870 is a better card. Great card for the price.

I've a 4850 at the moment to tide me over till I buy something new, but it's agonising waiting on the 69xx series, particularly the 6950. Which is why I'm considering a 5870 now......

Radeon 6950 won't be cheaper than £250 ish.

Well if that's the reason, and you only have to 'suffer' a 4850, I say no way - wait for 69xx. Only a few weeks now - you can do it.

unless any of these options that have presented themselves are second hand and you therefore wont loose money on them if you buy then re-sell when 69xx hits.

well if u can pick up a 5870 new around 180-190, then it's easily a much better deal.

Got a 5870 today coming from 4850 lol is all I can say!
