5870 problem (driver?)

I recieved my RMA replacement for my old 5870 today, and i've just got the system all set-up, old nvidia drivers fully removed, ati drivers updated etc.. my problem is now when i double click an icon on my desktop wierd broken white lines appear at the top of the screen for a split second.
Its definitely a graphical glitch it seems. It cant be the monitor or cable, it was working perfect on my old 5870 and gf 8800 ultra i was using in the meantime.
Basically i was just wondering if anyone else has had the same problem?
Drivers are the latest official 10.11.
Btw its ONLY if i double click an icon. I can click to my hearts content everywhere else and its all good. Im just a little worried atm.
Going to try out some games and see how it goes

doesnt happen at all in games, those are perfect. still only in windows and strangely enough clicking the graphics card tab in gpu-z (other tabs do nothing).
Plus its more of a graphical glitch line instead of white. Its just really annoying thats all.

Very odd.

Do the easy things first.

Reseat the card, make sure all power leads are attached.

Click the graphics card tab to reset the cards.

No unfortunately re-seating the card and all the cables hasnt helped. And now the problem is in loading screens in games aswell. In the CCC it happens whenever you see the graphic box.
Im thinking its probably the drivers, so can someone recommend to me what the best drivers to download would be? and how easy would it be to downgrade?

It shouldnt be the drivers...

More than likely OCuk have sent you a dud card...

I'd contact them.. becuase any thing they send back to you even if it was refurbished etc.. should work 100%!

But in games and films its absolutely perfect. Been running 3dmark11 at the moment (not gonna tell you my score ) and like i say, all the rendering etc. is perfect.
I have to try other things first and drivers seem likely. I just don't want to end up downloading drivers that could have been shoddy (i havent needed ati drivers for awhile so excuse me for being out of it).
And i have to say this, but it wasn't OCuk that replaced the card, it was XFX, so problems go to them if it comes down to that. OC is great!
My last thing is the 'new versions' of the 5870. When i first got me card it was extremely long, the fan was situated at the end of the card, there was a back plate, and it was very heavy. Now with the new versions (you'll see the pic on OC) they are much shorter, really! it is 1 inch shorter then the 8800gtx i had was, fan is in the middle, and it is sooo much lighter, covering seems cheaper too with lots more airholes, and there is no backplate. Has anyone else noticed this change?

EDIT: Now its happeing when i scroll down web-pages.. i hope to god this card isnt going too
