5870 problem

Hi,

I stupidly had a go on ati overdrive and it corrupted the screen. I was forced to boot into safe mode and get rid of the drivers. However now I cannot seem to reinstall them.

Any advice on what to do? Seems my only option would be to reflash the bios. It's an asus 5870v1

you're right it shouldn't and i'm posting from the same pc just without a display driver. Basically I was forced to reset it as the screen turned purple with lines. on Booting those lines would show up before I could get into the CCC to fix it. I got rid of the drivers via safe mode but have been unable to install a display driver since.

ok updated drivers from windows update and it's fixed. How weird. Guess uninstalling the drivers screwed the registry or something. Never liked ati's installer

Have had the card since April and it's an asus so there should be 3 years warranty

The the overdrive feature is a bit pants, takes ages for a small overclock and when its done you get artifacts in games!

Or in this case corrupt something in the install (probably my fault since I probably didn't clear the drivers out properly).

Now reupdated to 10.10 think i've learned my lesson here never trust ati overdrive. Update: reformated all is good what a load of trouble.
