Hi,

Ive got a Sapphire Vapor-X 1Gb 5870 and past few months Ive been getting VPU Recovery error's during games, Black Ops, Crysis 2, Far Cry 2, I don't know whats going on. I'm currently on the 11.5's and this problem has persisted on the drivers before these.

Ive got Gpu-Z & Coretemp running through my G19 so I can keep an eye on temps, Gpu under load tops out at around 60*C & Cpu around 50*C (Cpu isn't OC'd).

I did a fresh install of Windows 7 x64 yesterday and its still persisting. Does this mean the card is dieing and I need to get a replacement.

What's the rest of your system, specifically your power supply, like? Power issues shouldn't cause a driver error, but you never know.

Hmm, I have the same card and again only recently with newer drivers I have been having very occasional BSOD with the dreaded atikmdag.sys error. Interestingly when using CCC to overclock to full 900/1300 it happened slightly more often. I think the others are on to something about the pre-overclock not being stable with latest drivers or newer games pusing the card harder.

What would you all recommend using to change the clock or the voltage? Should we stick with CCC or would something else be better.
