Hi all, received my 5870, just don't feel its as much of an improvment from a 8800gtx as I would have though, Playing COD MW2 doesen't feel massively improved, can someone check if my 3dmark score seems correct?

This is using the balanced setting on Ati CCC

Spec below

I have also always used Nvidia, and had the AA set at 8x and the AF set at 16X in it's panel.

Can anyone tell me what this would relate to in ATI's terms? smoothvision HD 8x and samples 24x?

Sumper sample AA?

Catalyst A.I?

Mipmap?

What settings should my system be able to run on, setting everything to its highest in ATI's CCC totally crippes COD MF2

Thanks for your input, just a little unsure on the settings with ATI

Thanks for your responces,

I hear what your saying Topfan regarding benchmarks, but in games my CPU isn't being maxxed, when I really ramp up the settings in ATI's CCC for COD MW2 the CPU usage is even less.

Tried dirt 2 now aswell, yes it looks good, maxed in game but balanced in ATI's CCC and its not laggy but its not uber FPS as I would have hoped, just feel its not the WOW of £300 I was hoping.

Thanks all

Ok thanks all,

I thought if it was showing my CPU's weren't being fully utilised a faster CPU wouldn't make any difference to my FPS but maybe I'm wrong. Looks time for to go for a I5, I7 route in the future months.

Would only having pcie 1 and 2 not make much difference?
