Looking to replace my 5870 and just wanted to check what would be the best option for my system which is:

960T unlocked to x6 @ 4.0
8gb 1600 DDR3
GA-MA770t-UD3P

I have seen a lot of posts recommending the HIS HD 7950 IceQ BOOST which is on this week only @239.99 but I also play a lot of Planetside 2 so I did not know if the EVGA GeForce GTX 660TI SuperClocked 2048MB was an option @239.99.

Or are there better options for my spec like 7878 XT.

I would prefer a card that exhausts out of the case, but also want to get good value for money (like everyone) so the AMD game deals are tempting to sell on.

Feedback would be appreciated.

it has started to go faulty, I get portions of the screen flickering during 3d stuff, it then flicks between GSOD and back to 3d then sometimes to a red lined screen, tried down clocking etc but with no effect.

Your 5870 is worth about £200 as they are excellent for bitcoin mining. You could easily get a 7950 just through selling it.

no, i sold mine a few weeks ago for £123 and most have been going for around that, i know as ive been keeping an eye on the prices over the last 3 weeks, a couple sold for >£150 but none have sold for that much in the last 2 weeks.
then remember that fee's + p&p will set you back ~£25

As I said above, I cant rely on that anyway as I believe that it has gone faulty, just really trying to find out what my best options are but it does still seem like the HIS 7950 is the current top of the crop for price/performance.

Went for the HIS card, they just seem to be best deal atm I was tempted by the Palit 670 in B-grade but decided I could not be bothered with the potential RMA issues after the 90 day period.
