5870 Sleep Woes

Got I7 4ghz bundle.

Vista 64, after a bios update, would resume from sleep no problem.

Also had no sleep problems with 5870 either.

However now, jumped to windows 7 RTM 64 and sleep works but the driver always complains that it encountered problems.

Any one else get that?

yeah ive had issues with sleep and my 5870 and it will not work with Win 7 ,my advice to you is forget sleep mode and use hibernate instead.
Sleep mode has also been tempermental and lots of things will alter the state of it which most times you will never solve.

Gutted really worked a dream on Vista 64 - wouldnt have thought there'd be much change. Oh Well like you say who cares. ATI prob release some drivers in the near future that might solve the problem.

I've had windows 7 sleep issues for as long as I've been using it, since the pre-betas.

They need to fix it really, it's the only problem I have with Win 7, every build has been the same with the sleep issue.

I have sleep issues on win7 x64 too, I don't own a 58** though

Oh, yeah I forgot to mention that I'm not using a 5800 card either.

No real sleep issues here on win7 and 5870, I set to sleep after 15 minutes of inactivity. Very rarely when it resumes the fan is on like 40% and not auto but that is ~1 in 20
