5870 vs Metro 2033

Metro is such a good looking game!

I bought it for £10, well well well worth it!

Great game. Im playing it maxed settings, but with DOF of and AAA rather than MLAA.

I have to say that Iv played maybe 50% of the game. Up to 30% of the game I had the same settings but with DOF on. And it was more than playable.

Iv only turned it off, becuase I was getting a little bit of fps dips... and becuase I wanted to experiment with DOF off, to see if there is any difference and if it helps the fps.

With it off, the game still looks phenomenal.

If I had a 470 instead of a 5870, would I be able to play withthe settings I am but with physx on as well?

Is the 470 alone capable of that?

This is an old article but it might shed some light on your question. You will then have to take things like overclocking and newer drivers into account.

I guess you'v answered my question in terms of settings playable between a 5870 and a 470...

But I waswondering how much performance impact physx causes, and if the 470 alone is capable of having that feature on or not?
