Just got a new computer with the Power Colour ATi 5870 (was expecting the Sapphire so I will be having a word with OCUK about this) and I am getting a Windows Experience index of 6.0 on fresh install of Windows 7 along with the latest Catalyst drivers?

Any idea why? Thanks

This is a known issue mate, don't worry. The windows experience index is of no use or interest to anyone on here. Let us know some other bench results and system specs (e.g. which mobo?) and that will tell a much more detailed story.

Try uniengine benchmark without tesselation and at 1920x1200. Also try the STALKER pripyat bench at full settings and 3Dmark Vantage.

That way we can suss if your card is under-performing (I suspect it's not :))

On the other topic of your power colour, the availability of the 5870 is so poor I would thank god everyday that OCUK had the forsight to swap out for the power color. If you give them a ring they will match the warranty offered on the sapphire i'm sure.

Thanks.

It's the Titan Goliath so the specs are on the website. I get 23k with 3dmark 06 and will give the other benchmarks a go and let you know what results I get. I am also running at 2048 x 1152 as I also have a nice new shiny Dell 23"...literally shiny as it doesn't have glare protection on...bit bad that my window is behing me! :D

reinstall the drivers then do a re-test or this:

I just got this problem after installing the 9.11 drivers. i got 7.8 before.

My 5870 runs at 900 core and 5200 mem and get an experience index of 6.0 lol

I get 18033 in 3dmark vantage!!

Set everything in the CCC to what it would be on new format so no AA set etc and your score will go up to what it should be, i put some new drivers in and was getting 6 and thought hmmm set it back to default on the CCC and mine went up to 7.8 as it is on install.

I wish Microsoft didn't integrate this with Vista/W7 as its very unaccurate and doesn't give a true represenation of what you system is actually capable of.

I wonder how many people have upgraded their systems due to poor scores :)
