I have just taken stock of my new 5870 with the 9.12 hotfix drivers installed.
Question, I am running it with a 9800GT for PhysX (win 7 64) I now have a dilema, do I continue using the PhysX card or do I remove it, sell it on fleabay, and use the 5870 with opencl? The new api ATi are using for open source physics, open cl will not run if a nvidia card is present!, this is ridiculous!, as I had to patch the nvidia drivers in the first instance to get physX working!
Any thoughts?

Merry Xmas to all :)

Yeah I understand that, but open cl can not be enabled if a nvidia GPU is present! So what should I roll with PhysX or open cl?

As OpenCL is dx11 nvidia cards won't work as you have said as they do not have a dx11 gpu. Ati cards can't do physx without an nv card to support it. You should be able to answer you own question. Is physx important to you if so keep your setup as it is. If not get rid of the gt and you still have OpenCL. If i were you i would keep the gt as its not worth much atm and you get the best of both worlds.

OpenCL isn't DirectX11. That's DirectCompute.

Yeah think i'll roll with it meantime can be easily un-installed from my rig and opencl re-enabled if, and when i require it!

You could go one better and simply disable the nVidia card via device manager, that should achieve the same result without having to actually remove the card.

For games that use it yes!, vantage score went from 17400 to just under 22K!

A good increase. But if you were to be using it for benching on HwBot, you would have to disable it anyway as Physx is not allowed.

I have 1 4870x2 and a single 4870 that i run together. In games the result is stunning. Take out the single 4870 and fit my 8800 Ultra with Physx enabled, the result is a lot less satisfactory.
