Its coming out next month, GT300 is supposedly out in November according to Nvidia, but they could only be saying that to slow sales of the 5's, get people to wait for them, so we'll see when November comes.

Not sure on pricing, if 2x 5870's are £600 (could be lower by the time the x2 arrives), then i can't see the x2 being more than that, as there would be no point in buying a one, as you may as well just buy 2x singles for cheaper and have the same.

Although i have heard that the x2 is going to be clocked higher, so that may put it higher priced than 2x singles.

Well going by the 4870x2 release price of around £430ish at best I would go with that price point...

I would agree that if I were ATi I would hold of to steal Nvidia' flame!

And as for the last point, would love too, but tbh my 4890 is going great at 1920-1200 for me!

Considering the way the HD4xxx series behaved, I would say that by that time (November) the separate cards should cost about 240-260, though I cannot see the x2 selling for more then 400 to be honest (quite optimistic here), unless of course ATI chooses to change their business plan towards a new direction and make use of the situation by trying to suck some extra dough out of us.

Where did you get that info from? That its coming out next month?
It just doesnt make sense bringing out the card that soon?
Why bring out the card when 5870 already beats 295gtx in majority of games?
I cant see then sense in that? Better milk the 5870 until the Gt300 comes out and bring out the 5870 X2 then? Surley that would make more sense?

No one knows any of this right now. Anything that is said is pure speculation. However, here are two things that aren't:

I have asked OCUK directly regarding the release of the 5870x2. The response was pretty straight forward and not all that informative however. They stated that an NDA was still in place surrounding its details and that a stipulation of it was that the date of when the NDA is to be lifted isn't allowed to be reveled either.

And I will definitely be getting one provided it's released within the next month.
