Hi,

I am about to get a Dark Hero board with a 5900x and coming from years with Intel i'm kinda lost about how I should Oc it. I've checked CTR and it seems like a great tool to start with, no?

I saw a very detailed tutorial for version 2.0 :https://www.igorslab.de/en/clock-tu...en-5000-hybrid-oc-phoenix-mode-and-much-more/

or this : https://www.guru3d.com/articles-pag...GAIRXwbv4BYicMRDrh1PP4RELBExmbtRnqJqHcwmSlf8Q

I was wondering if I can still use it since the latest release is 2.1, is there any differences? Some people on discord told me NOT to use this tool, another one told me it kinda cooked his cpu with high voltage. i'd like your opinion

between PBO, curve, the switch oc on the dark hero, that's a lot of tools i'm not familiar with and i'd really like some expert advices

What type of OC should I use?
Which tools I need ?
How can i properly use the dark hero oc switch?

Thanks again !

Hi,

I've tried different OC methods for my 5900x / Dark Hero.

Here are my tests so far :

1.2 manual, 46 all cores
Bios settings : https://drive.google.com/.../1OlnsMPI5z8zB8Tk7U8Z.../view...
CR20 screen with temps : https://drive.google.com/.../1ZYy1ahBwNyS9FBNRJH4.../view...

1.3 voltage, curve optimiser
Bios settings : https://drive.google.com/.../1JMQG7X6ckT8V9CUTkxZ.../view...
CR20 screen with temps : https://drive.google.com/.../1qbzwZesedfvWIIO.../view...

1.3 voltage, curve optimiser + switch dark hero
Bios settings : https://drive.google.com/.../1jqsoImQ0Kk3PbPhbfef.../view...
CR20 screen with temps : https://drive.google.com/.../1a_iU-tn4KzI.../view...

Best results are curve optimizer + switch but despite the 1.3v per CCX, seems the voltage are a bit high not (max 1.5v) i don't understand why

That leads me to some questions.

When using OC per CCX :

- Do you need to put a voltage in core voltage override or leave it auto?
- Do you need to input a core ration or the CCX will override?
- How can i know the values for EDC /TDC etc...?

Bonus question:
What's the FF q code, haven't found it in the guide

Thanks again for your advices !

Hi, I've just tried some oc with curve + pbo + dark hero switch here are the settings i've used

For the curve, i'm not sure I understood it i put -20 on best cores, -25 on second, -30 on the others. However my idle temps RISED a lot, i'm close to 50c idle, what could i to do fix that?

I've tried to reset everything, clear cmos to do a fresh profile

Just activated xmp
Did a pbo curve

But on windows the cpu won't go above 3.6gh

I really don't understand why. Can someone help me please? With manual voltage it works fine.
