This is a comparison with a user on YouTube, I was quite surprised by my result. The 5900X is running the standard 3.7Ghz
The reason I wanted to compare it, is because I play Valhalla A LOT. And wanted to know if upgrading CPU would make a huge jump.

Is anyone on here wandering the same as me, If upgrading to AM5 at this point, even with the new 7950X3d. Will be worth it.

I play Valhalla A LOT also, I have gone from a 3900X to a 7950X and it has improved but not much as the 3900X ran it fine and I use 1200p 60Hz.
Here is my bench results:
Thanks for that screenshot, I'm going to try and drop to that resolution and compare results.
Do you know what your graphics settings were, it just says custom.

@redflint I changed it to 1920x1080p, which is only 120 pixels less vertically.
Interesting, The ceiling is lifted with the 7950X

Valhalla runs quite well, leagues ahead of poor Odyssey which got stuck with DX11 and is forever limited by that API (which is where Intel CPUs or AMD V-cache makes a huge difference vs regular Zen 2-3). There's not much to be gained from a CPU upgrade atm, not from a 5900X. It's going to take another 2 generations at a minimum before there's a CPU strong enough to really put the 5900X to shame in this game. For the most part the game is light on simulation & it has no RT so it's actually very forgiving on CPUs, which is why we see Zen 3 do uncharacteristically well in it.
