Hi folks!

On searching both these forums and the wider community, an awful lot of people have been successful in stable overclocks of their Haswell-E i7 5930k's at least as far as 4.5GHz with only a modest increase in voltages (i.e vcore 1.28 or so).

This target is well within the capabilities of my system, it would seem, and I have been trying to go the same way but I have not been so lucky thus far. I've reached 4.4GHz comfortably (vcore 1.286, 100/x44) and it's stable, but if I increase the multiplier any further it's just not having it. I've tried EVERYTHING I can think of but to no avail. I am therefore wondering whether there is anything that I am missing here?

System spec is in my signature. I've tried both 100/x45 & 125/x36 and both POST and reach Windows comfortably, but on starting the benchmark/stress-test software it sooner or later BSODs (usually sooner!) with a 101 code (i.e. more vcore!). This I have done, all the way up to 1.418, without success, but I dare not go any higher for obvious reasons! I have also artificially taken the cache multiplier and ram speed waaaaaay down low (i.e. x28 and 1800 or lower still to see whether I can discount those, but to no avail: it still BSODs. I have also specified a higher voltage (rather than auto) on every other voltage option in the BIOS (I can give specifics if necessary)

But the thing is this: it does not seem to be a case of needing more voltage or I am confident it would have worked, given the plethora of voltage tweaks I have tried. But I've run out of ideas! Does anybody have any suggestions?

I had some issues getting my 5820K to 4.5GHz. Had to increase the VRIN and System Agent voltage very slightly, only by .25 to .50 not much at all. Main issue was startup failing and dropping into BIOS defaults. Small increase in these fixed it and its be completely stable since

Thanks for the reply! I have raised the CPU Input Voltage and the SA Voltage but far more than that with no effect on stability. I really am at a loss: It seems so easy on YouTube!
