5930k been used?

Just received this from a very large online retailer (sorry OCUK). Does this look used, or are the stains likely to be from factory testing? The sides and the little hole look spotless.

My 5960x came like that, with small faint black lines. Initially thought it may have been used, but box was sealed fine and opening a 5820k for a friend's build more recently had similar marks. All marks came off easy as with a soft wipe. Like yours the hole for gas to escape during fab process was clean. I imagine its from testing at the factory.

Can't imagine anyone dumping the chip I got as it does for once in my life OC like a champ.

Reassured mate, I'll give it a test.

was it OEM or retail

if retail was the box sealed

It's retail, and the box was a bit bashed but the Intel seal sticker was in place. However, that seal isn't the best because after looking at the chip I put the seal tape back on and it looked as if it hadn't been off.

4.4 @ 1.25v - 65C during Handbrake run - all on air.

I think I'll keep it.

No 5930K are binned from any retail box.

Infact very rarely even from OEM not for a very long time has any 5930K been tested!!

I didn't buy from here, I was more concerned that a customer had bought, tested and returned.

However, the chip seems solid, so all good.
