I've recently ruled out the new Ryzen 2 series and I can't see me investing in another Intel chip if it's still hardware flawed with Spectre etc.. so I'm looking to work out what would be best for gaming out of my current hardware.
With both chips running at 4.4GHz, does the extra cores on the 5930k make it a better choice over the 6700k? Or, does the 6700k have an IPC advantage over the 5930k? Would faster RAM on the Skylake system give it an edge?
5930k is running 32GB Corsair CMK32GX4M4A2400C14B set @ 2133MHz 15-15-15-36
6700k is running 16GB Team Group 8 Pack PC4-25600C14 set @ 3600MHz 16-16-16-35
Normally, I would swap the GPU around the 2 systems and benchmark but these are full custom loops so not so easy.
Gaming resolution will be 3440*1440 and GPU will be 1080ti.
