Hi,

I have just rebuilt my pc and have ran into a problem of when activating XMP in BIOS my pc fails to start. I get an error about OC has failed press F1 to enter setup ect.

PC works ok with everything on Auto and have just ran RealBench for the past 2 hours and passed. Max temps were 53 degrees.

Also do i need both 8+4 pin cables installed for CPU power or can I just have the 8 pin installed?

I am looking to overclock so any advice on both activating XMP & Overclocking.

Spec:
5930k
X99A Krait Edition (latest BIOS)
16GB Corsair Vengeance 3000MHz RAM

thanks.

Hi

You only need 8 pin installed (I believe it's called JPWR2). And obviously 24 pin on motherboard.

Getting RAM to 3000MHz is not as simple as enabling XMP. When I had chance to play with DDR4 on X99 system, anything above 2400MHz required manual adjustments (that was 2x8 GSkill 3000MHz DDR4 on X99A MPower).

thanks for the reply.

Have managed to get to 4.4Ghz using Base clock of 100 Mhz, 1.2 ring voltage & 1.3 vcore.

My pc won't boot using 125 Base clock and memory have manually set to 2666Mhz.

Do these settings look OK?
