We won't get them for them prices though as AMD don't ship to the UK, so we have to rely on the retailers.

I suspect you will see prices here track other retailers in a generally downwards direction as we go forward into Q3. If you want a cheaper 5900x/5950x just wait, prices are only going one way

I really hope no-one bought one from here in the latest few days - ouch!
Doesn't matter if it's 5900x or 5950x, whichever I can find in stock and at RRP I'll be adding to basket. Only wanted a 3080 but ended up with 3090 as that was all I could get at RRP.
RRP is what these things were reviewed at. If a new AMD/Intel processor came out that easily beat everything but was £2000 RRP I'm not sure it would get such good review scores.

It's all a game of supply and demand, same for the GPU's. As long as you don't persuade yourself you "need" a specific product, a good deal will come along.
Respect to that other place for the decent price hopefully no one paid the quoted price or higher here.

If they did pay over £950, they were a mug with more money than sense.
I nabbed my 5950x for £750 at 4am Sunday morning from a high street retailer, it was worth staying awake for.

You'd no doubt see some better minimums and a larger improvement in problem titles for older Ryzen chips (like the Far Cry games), but in general you'll be GPU-bound either way.
Anything over 8 cores is generally a waste if it's just for gaming unless your that guy who only upgrades once every 10 years.
