Hi all,

I've just built my machine got it all configured and I'm going through tuning it up. I am a bit of a newb when it comes to overlocking but I've educated myself as best I can but I seem to be hitting a brick wall.

My build is as follows:

AMD 5950X
Asus Strix X570-I MiniITX board
16GB Crucial Balistix BLE2K8G4D36BEEAK 3600 MHz 16-18-18
Corsair TX850M 850W PSU
Arctic Freezer II 280mm AIO

I ran Prime95 on a 32 core blanaced stress test and I can see in Ryzen master that the EDC get pinned to 100% on the default out of the box settings I was hitting 4.5ish GHz then I set it to Precision boost overdrive which upped the limit of EDC which again it took to 100% of the new value and I was still hitting the same 4.5GHz???

I should also mention I am on the latest BIOS, the board wouldn't boot with my CPU until I updated it which was a massive hassle!

Have I missed something?

If your stressing all cores at the same time then the max your chip will boost to is 4.5ghz, it’s only single threaded applications that will boost higher, my 5900x will sit at 4.4ghz when I’m doing a stress test on all cores ie realbench, but in games or cinebench single core it will boost to 4.95ghz

That makes sense, nothing I was doing was seeming to make any sense.
I assume to get this higher I would have to lock the multiplier higher to lock all cores
