Looking to pick up a 5950x, I notice prices have increased in the past month or two but wondering if I should buy now or wait for Zen 4 launch, any advice?
 
Thanks but not really keen on buying used, this machine is used for work so I want the peace of mind and warranty. I was more wondering if prices will drop to clear out the old stock of 5950x once the new cpus arrive. If that will happen I'll wait, if it won't then I'd be better buying now rather than running the risk of there not being any new ones left.
 
Thanks for the advice, that was what I was thinking but haven't bought as generations change before so wasn't sure. Cheers.
 
Thanks all, I'm upgrading from a 3900x on an x470 board. Want to do a moderate upgrade without having to reinstall everything hence just going for CPU swap. Also not going for a 7000 series as I don't want the teething troubles that are involved with early adopting.
 
Now I'm kicking myself for not buying when I saw the 5950x at 480 a couple of months ago... Any views on whether to buy now or wait for black Friday? Can't get a clear answer on whether production has ceased or not.
