Hi 8 Pack,

Just received my replacement 5960X from Intel which is batch:-

J522B888

So is this a J batch cpu? Have you come across this particular batch - any good/worth testing?

I recently purchased one of your 4.7Ghz chips and am a bit disappointed really as temps are pretty high under water with 480 rad and D5 strong pump. Have only tested at up to 4.5 @ 1.281v and getting mid seventies temps with a 10 minute aida test. Any suggestions would be welcome.

mid 70's on an 8core cpu running at 4.5 i think is good.
the cpu in question max's out at 105c, so if under full load its hitting 70c under normal use i would thing 50's 60's?

Fair point - I was not thinking right when I posted, and since then found there was still quite a bit of air in the loop. I have since managed [email protected] with temps no worse, and may be slightly better with cache at 43.

maybe you should try to reduce the voltage a bit?
I have had 5 J batch cpus and it seems all of them can pass 1hr Asus RBST at around 1.2v-1.25v.
The current one I am using runs perfectly stable for my use at 1.225v and hover under 75 degree in 3dsmax with custom loop.

Thanks for your input - you have a nice chip there. I will soon have a good tweaking session, and see how I go................
