5970+5870 in eyefinity.

Hello there i have 2x 5870 watercooled @ the moment.
was thinking of selling 1 of my 5870 cards to replace with a 5970.
but im using eyefinity@ 6012x1200 resolution.
does any1 know if this setup works with eyefinity because if it dont im not going to sell 1 of my cards.. thx in response.
from what i have just read it wont run good in eyefinity but would in single monitor setup.

tri-Fire works GREAT.

a 5970 Plus 5870 will be fine! but i would suggest a 5850 to go withe the 5870 as they are less power hungry

i have just read about tri fire is a hit and miss. in eyefinity. ie bad company 2 gives high frame rates but stutters. this is no good . from what ppl said there is ony half life that run ok.

what games have u run and by how much of a increse does it give over the 5970.. do u get micro stutter and do games give lower frame rates by using trifire.

I run a 5970 + 5870 in eyefinity and I get between 80-100 fps with the latest drivers. No stuttering at all. Probably person with stuttering had a cpu that bottle necked the cards.

i have :

just cause 2
Dirt 2
batman
Dragon age
and variours others.

All work fine.

BUT just cause 2 does have some very minor stuttering but only notice it if you look at the sky.

newer drivers will fix this anyway

My trifire setup stutters with Eyefinity ... IMHO BC2 is smoother with just the 5970 in Eyefinity likewise with Dirt2. I am not referring to micro stutter here as it's plainly obvious to me .... Have had this setup since the new year and have noticed improvements in drivers but not quite there yet.

However, for a single monitor it is superb.
