Does any1 know where i can find a review of a Ati 5970+5870
i currenly have 2x 5870 watercooled and was wondering if i bought a 5970 would it work with a 5870. thx in response.

No review but I have a 5970 + 5850 and works great! 33k in vantage!

@ the moment i get 30203 in vantage with just 2 5870 cards.
but im gaming @ over 6000x1200 res. so its a ramapge 3 extreme mobo
or get a 5970 hmm. i already own a rampage 2 extreme mobo so i dont know what to do.

32379 for gpu

I run the 2 cards on a rampage extreme 2.

If you are going to run with stock coolers on teh gpu's you can get away with running the 5870 in slot 1 and 5970 in slot 2 and temps with stay withint reason.

If you try running 5970 in slot 1 and 5870 in slot 2 they will go too high.

What Cpu have you got ?

Its a hard one this one I would prob get the mobo,Your not going to get that much more from a 59.Also what PSU hav you got? you will need at least 800W .



Edit: Nope changed my mind!!!! Get a 59 and a water block.

i have a 1 kw psu so that wont be a issue. but im using a crucial c300 6 gb ssd on a 3gb rampage 2. lol. im using a i7 920 overclocked to 4.3 ghz ht on.
6 gb memory.

Could you not sell both the GPUs then just get one 59 and the Mobo? Then later on just get a 2nd card?
I get 32707 on Vantage with just one 5970.

thats what i get so far on vantage with current setup.

Ye its a hard one. Just looking @ my older scores on Vantage and if i run 1000/1210 i get 30838 on the GPU. Thats water cooled and std volts. So not a lot of diff there and will run 24/7 at those speeds.

What clocks are you useing on the 58s thought it would be higher than what your getting.

tbh i don't think there's much point having both unless you've got an i5/i7 clocked

do the connections line up to use a crossfire barb for watercooling.
