Hi All

Ive not been lazy ive surfed untill my eyes have felt like they started to bleed.

So ill try and ask here just incase someone knows how...

My problem is i play a certain game that crashes on full screen thus i have to play in wondowed, But alas both cores wont run in windowed mode.

So is there anyway to force both cores to run in windowed mode. starting to wish i never got this card now . and i was even thinking of xfire it :D

I don't understand why you cant play full screen tbh. I suggest a full uninstall of driver, install driver cleaner pro, boot in safe mode, run driver cleaner and reboot and install 10.8. Dont overclock and see how it goes.
 
Thx for replies . its ffxiv which seems to have a problem with full screen.

Ive doen a fresh install so driver is not a problem as all other applications have no problems.

I have even treid with stock speeds on everything still no joy.

Im sure it will be fixed at some point. but for future windowed dual gpu problems i just wanted to know if it is possible.

I read that it can be done changing the bios but i would rather leave this untill last resort as ive never flashed a dual core card before.
And it think you need to bios types master and slave and they need to be flashed to right core, thus ill wait :D


If nothing can be done ill just have to carry on, pc runs sweet still with just one core.

Sounds more like a problem with the game rather than the card if everything else works ok, its still in beta isn't it?

Yeah profiles make it run xfire in full screen but seems to have a crash issue.

As of yet not sure what is causing it.

Im sure thye will fix it at some point but just wanted to see my options. as in some game etc i would like to play windowed as its easier to multi task

Yeah runs bench mark fine . but even that only runs in windowed thus only using one core.

Thats why im trying to find out how to get both gpu's running in windowed mode.

Just seems silly that things like a bench mark only running windowed . its like as if nvidia dont want x2 card to be used in bench marks so the 480 looks better.

But ill keep looking may come up with something soon.

You’re not doing yourself any favours by posting vague cryptic messages about the identity of the game you’re playing. This forum is here to help people and we don't expect to have to play Cluedo in order to work out what game your playing just so we can you help you.

As much as i understand what your saying, i didnt relise i was being vague.

I just asked a question if anyone knew a way to use 2 cores in windowed mode.
I wasnt asking if anyone knew how to fix the game im playing which i did name in the later reply :D

No worries, if the game your trying to play is meant to use both GPU cores it should use them windowed or otherwise. I would try out some of your other games that you know do work with crossfire and check that the card is working fine with them.
 
Does the Alt + Enter trick work for this game?, dirt2 allways ran in a window mode whenever i fired up the game, pressing Alt + Enter put the game back in fullscreen.
