I wonder if anyone can throw any light on the fact i have a 5G oppo Reno 4 pro, but my operator( id mobile three) say it's not compatible on their 5G network, but don't know as to why. Oppo themselves don't know either
I think they might be thinking that three only uses band 42 which isn't supported by that phone, but some sources are saying that they also use band 78 which is supported.
I would suggest trying to contact three directly to see if they can give you better information.
In this page we are going to show you the compatibility of Oppo Reno4 Pro 5G with the mobile networks of United Kingdom and with the telephony operators that provide service in United Kingdom.
There's an international and Chinese model (some sellers sell the Chinese model with the international software installed, but still doesn't change hardware support), but both support band 78.
Another thing to check is your SIM card, I remember back when swapping over from 3G to 4G, you had to swap your SIM to properly receive 4G if it was really old, although from my own experience it wasn't really needed with 5G, perhaps with iD you might?
EDIT: Oh I see you already commented on that thread. In that case you're pretty much stuck if it really is iD working on a whitelist. For the sake of it maybe try a Three PAYG SIM just to see if 5G actually works on your phone.
