5G iPod with Video - time to copy songs onto HD?

Just a quick question to those who have the Video iPod:

Mine seems to take ages and ages to copy songs over. Apparently at the rate of only about 1MB/s or something. Most of the songs are already on there and I don't have a great number of songs to add at this point so it's not a huge problem, but what are your transfer speeds like to the Video iPod?

PS. It also takes an age after plugging in the iPod, until it is recognized and starts updating on iTunes. Do others experience similar issues?

1MB/sec is definitely abnormal. Do you have any other USB devices you can test?

That's not right, mine is much quicker at sending songs. For me it takes about 20 secs to open iTunes and start the sync.
