Hello all, was considering asking a question recently on wifi adapters and then on 5ghz, but thought I'd wait and merge 2 questions together.
For the past few years I've been using a belkin wifi adapter on my main pc upstairs - F5D8055 (v2) - belkin only have driver support and manual listed on their site but its a run of the mill adapter
The Adapter complies with the IEEE draft-802.11n specification to
communicate with other draft-802.11n-compliant wireless devices at up
to 300Mbps*. The Adapter is also compatible with 802.11g devices at
54Mbps as well as 802.11b products at 11Mbps. The Adapter operates
on the same 2.4GHz frequency band as 802.11b/g Wi-Fi® products.
• 2.4GHz ISM (Industrial, Science, and Medical) band operation
• Integrated easy-to-use Belkin Wireless Networking Utility
• USB 2.0 interface, for operation in virtually any computer with a
USB 2.0 bus-power port
• Optional USB Desktop Stand
• WPA, WPA2, 64-bit WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy), or 128-bit
encryption
• Wifi Protected Setup (WPS)
• Push Button Security setup
• Wireless access to networked resources
• Data rate of up to 300Mbps* (draft 802.11n), 54Mbps (802.11g), or
11Mbps (802.11b)
• Easy installation and use
• LED power and network link/activity indicator

Recently I was wondering about the differences in performance from a usb adapter vs a pci card adapter and also if there are even any improvements on the usb side of things as the adapter is quite old now (that and because of my crossfire set-up and the size of the gpus I've pretty much lost the use of my 2 remaining lanes, but I'd still be interested in seeing if any pci products are better).

Now to the newer question, I'm getting the Bt Hub 5 with wireless ac and am now wondering should I get a wireless ac adapter for my desktop? My as-well use it if I can (are there any disadvantages to ac that I've not come across yet? Other than the decreased range?) and can anyone recommend a decent ac adapter? (be it usb or pci).

Thanks for reading and any suggestions given :)

Been looking online and I'm liking the look (though not the price) of the Adus usb-ac56

Anyone here using this adapter? (preferably with the home hub 5)
How doez it hold up/what are your opinions on the adapter ?
