5Ghz spectrum isolated

I checked out my 5Ghz spectrum using wifi analyser on my Android and it seems that nobody is using this band, However if most broadband providers are supplying dual band routers is there a problem with the app, does the app nott sensitive enough to find 5Ghz clients or does nobody use this channel?

Compare my 2Ghz to 5.

5ghz doesn't penetrate through walls as well as 2.4 plus I don't think dual band has been standard for very long with ISPs. The majority of people won't upgrade their router until they change provider or it breaks.

As above, I expect a tiny percentage have 5Ghz wifi.

5Ghz doesnt travel as far so you wont pick up as many.

Cool thanks. So I guess because of the weak signal.strength I can use any channel. The 2Ghz spectrum is a jungle in comparisson so I have to chose the best out of a bad bunch.

5Ghz is usually used for outdoor as it won't penetrate obstructions very well. I work with the stuff daily.
