For some reason my 5s seems to drop 3G signals frequently and resort to edge. When both myself and my girlfriend are sat together she'll have 3G on her 4 and I'll be on edge. We're both on O2 but I'm on a 4g contract.

Common issue send it back

Would this at all be the same with the iPhone 5?

I had a 4s before and 3G was very fast and had full signal nearly all the time with EE. I upgraded to a 5, and on a 4G contract. I now get hardly any signal, I don't get 4G in the area I live but the 3G signal I get is awful, for example it struggles to buffer a youtube video... the casing in the top left is also loose but I've had the phone for about 4 months now so not sure what I am entitled to do about it.

I have the same thing (Same network too) I took it to an apple store and they replaced it (Power button was also tempermental).

New phone, same issue.

I have the same issue with my 5S on O2 and never and issue with my 4S on the O2. I have previously tried searching on the interwebs for a solution or if it is a common issue but I can't find anything. I just assumed it was the signal on the fens, but it does annoy me.

To be honest the 5S's signal isn't brilliant, my Nexus 4 was better. In my house I'd be able to hold a call on the N4 without a problem, on the 5S I frequently get no service whatsoever, let alone even managing to make a call and drop it.
