5th gear problems?

Lo all,

My fiancee has a Suzuki Swift and is having some trouble getting it into 5th...will hardly ever go in but it goes in fine if you double declutch it.

5th is the only gear that does it....anybody got any ideas?

Something dodgy in the gear box as 5th and reverse run on the same sharft (as do 1+2 and then 3+4). Cant think at the moment what its called though.

Although our works van needed the gearbox taken apart to fix it

Probably a synchromesh on the way out.

5th gear problems? Yes I have had that too. I just change the channal there are usualy top gear repeats on UKTV

too true...

well reverse,1st, 2nd and 5th are all challenging

How many miles on this. Maybe check or change the gearbox oil, if little bits of metal pour out then further attention may be required
