Hello, Ive built my new pc last week and not had any problems before today. The pc rebooted its self today, not knowing why i ran PC Probe II after it rebooted and the +5 volt monitor kept on dropping to about 4.38v and kept setting the alarm off!

I then turned the pc off for a few seconds and turned it on again and it seems ok.

Anyone have any ideas what may of caused the volt drop? Im guessing that was the cause of the crash?

Its not overclocked

heres the spec:
Asus P5W DH Deluxe
Intel Core 2 DUO E6600
GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC6400 800MHz Ultra Low Latency DDR2
Enermax Galaxy 850W EGA850EWL ATX2.2 Modular PSU
EVGA GeForce 7300 GT 512MB DDR2 HDTV-Out/DVI

5V rail should be +/- 5% so minimum of 4.75V. However not all motherboard sensors are very accurate, so it should really be checked using a multimeter. Even a £10 multimeter from a DIY shop will be more accurate than the motherboards voltage sensors.

If the 5V rail is really that low, RMA it for being out of spec.

Just had a look and they are complaining about it bleeping, something to do with faulty fans

Mines not bleeping :)

This is what the Jeantech brands do, drop off on the 5V rails causing reboots, seems you have a similar problem. I'd RMA it if it continues.
