5xBNC Component cable question.

I have an old but extremely high quality VGA to 5xBNC component cable sat around doing nothing, and a old laptop which doesn't have DVI. *I think you can see where this is going*

If I was to get 3 BNC to Phono adaptors for the red, blue and green cables and ignore the Horizontal and Vertical sync cables *there's no space for them to connect on the TV* - would it work?

I can get the adaptors quite reasonably I'm just wondering if it's worth giving a go.

No. Unless the VGA port on your laptop is capable of outputting component video (sync on green) then it won't work.
