Got the Asus 7970 coming in the morning apparently its a 2 x 8 pin power feeds, my current power supply is a

OCZ Stealth extreme 2 700 w but only has 1 6 pin and a 6 pin + 2 is it ok to get a Molex adaptor to 8 pin to power this card from my additional Molex thanks for your help.

should be fine, just check the line you are attaching the molex to has enough juice. Your PSU should list what each line is capable of.

you have 4 12v rails so just attach the molex adaptor directly to a feed that has nothing else on it and you almost certainly will be using a different 12v rail to the straight through pci-e cable

Will be fine, Ive got the OCZ modX PSU with the same connectors. there is a connector in the box that will take your 6pin to 8pin :)

If you want me to take a pic of my setup let me know.
