I've got a Corsair AX1200 PSU but it only has 8 pin pcie cables. So currently with my 480 GTX I have two pins dangling which looks messy.

Anyone know of a compatible adapter?

Apologies if this makes no sense I'm currently high on pain meds.

I would buy a 6-pin extension cable like this and hide the joining part with the surplus 2-pins elsewhere in the case , I did not see any longer on Overclockers, but if you have a scan around they can be found 45cm long easily enough;)

proof here:

Still leaves the two pins dangling ;)

You need an 8pin to 6pin adapter.

OcUK don't stock any

3-0 and stop making it worse for yourself:p:D

Eh? All that shows is that I agreed with you and forgot that extension cables existed and would work.

Pray point me to where I say one is an extension and the other isnt? :p

1-2 now I believe.

and this would leave 4 pins dangling......2 on the psu plug and 2 on the extension plug ;) does that mean i get a point? :D

8pin to 6pin adapter would have a female end with no less than 8 ports.

So no pins would be dangling? Or am I missing something? I hope so, otherwise I'm worried about your chosen career ;)

you said that this would leave 2 pins dangling and im saying 4

the 8 - 6 pin adapter would leave 0 pins dangling which i agree with but i dont think they even make one mate...... definate point for the sparky....imagine being concerned with my wiring  everybody knows that blue is live?.....dont they? ;)

Apologies, thought you were referencing something else xD

My brains gone from revision. All I can think of is chemicals and hormones in the Oestrous cycle and what they do :S
