Wasn't sure where to put this question, but thought you guys here would know.

I am getting a Logitech CC3000e which for some reason uses a 5 meter DIN cable for the camera, which isn't long enough. I would like to add a 5 meter DIN extension cable on the end.

Q: What's the maximum length for a DIN cable in terms of degradation?

Its entirely dependant on the signal it is transmitting, and the protocol type. And the only ones to give you a real answer are Logitech.

Its nothing to do with the connector type.

I guessed that this was a standard cable, but I've not bought one of the cameras yet to try it out. Since the camera is HD I can't see it being an analogue signal so you should be good to extend it - either way the cables are cheap so suck it and see.

I'd be tempted to change the whole cable though, rather than have a join in it. Unfortunately they all seem to be grey, which isn't so nice.

Bought an extender, managed to power the camera, but that's it. Couldn't recognise the device. Odd really.

Are there "boosters" or "active adapters" for DIN cables?

That's a massive disappointment then, it could have been a good product if it didn't have that stupid limitation.
