£600-1000, 15-17 inch, somewhat gaming?

Hiya. So new laptop for the beloved wife for Christmas. I've not got a clue about laptops, really.

Restrictions are:
Budget, £600-£1000
Size: 15-17 inch
Slight AMD preference, but only if it makes sense as a tie breaker
Purpose: Some gaming, lots of internet and media
Life span:. The last laptop lasted 8+ years, it will be used till death.
Upgrades:. Would accept less memory now, and upgrading later

Would not ever be used to drive 4K screens, etc. I have a desktop for that. Or will do, when 5900x of purchasable.

So - ideas?

I went for the Inspiron 15 AMD 5000 Series 5505 , AMD Ryzen(TM) 7 4700U with 8GB DDR4, 3200MHz , really fast . I will upgrade another 8GB DDR4, 3200MHz to 16GB soon

I cannot believe how fast the machine is , nice little laptop and not sure what extra 8GB DDR4, 3200MHz will do if i notice and speed difference
Photoshop CS works so well
